Many are illegal. (Read later in description) ***This a set of three (3) GENUINE ANCIENT CHINESE COINS suitable for I-Ching, Feng Shui, or collecting. They are about 1000 years old. These are from the Sung Dynasty that ruled in China from 960 to 1126 A.D. They are from various Emporers randomly selected and packed, but all from this time period, about 1000 years ago. All minted by various official mints by the authority of the Imperial Chinese Government. They are unconditionally GUARANTEED GENUINE CHINESE DYNASTY COINS. The side with 4 characters on it is the front, or obverse of the coins, as this is the "official" side of the coin. Two of the characters tell you that it is authorized Imperial money and the other 2 are the two characters of the Emperor’s Official Name for his reign. On these ancient coins the side with no characters is the back or reverse of these coins (unlike the 150 to 400 year old coins that have back markings). The picture shows a sample of the kinds of coins you may get. They are in used general average circulated condition, and even though they are centuries old, they could have been used up to about 1910 for commerce in China, so they will show definite signs of this use, but mostly they have been hidden away in clay pots or jars and some even buried in them. They were also more crudely made than coins of today to start with. They may or may have not been partly cleaned, or may be dark, but none have been polished or restored, it would be up to you if you wish to do this. Many coin collectors would not. We will try to send 3 that are reasonably matched in size and color unless you want them otherwise. ***These coins can be used for divination and to seek guidance on your path of life from the I Ching. You simply toss the three coins and look to see how many come up heads and how many come up tails. You chart this, then you consult the "I Ching: Book of Changes" or other literature (not included) to discover the meaning. If you are interested in I Ching, you can get the parts of Book of Changes and much more useful information on interpretation of I Ching on the internet by putting in a search of “I Ching”. In a book, entitled Understanding the I Ching, by Cyrille Javary, it shows that the seemingly random act of "throwing the I Ching" is, in fact, a tool for skillfully revealing the qualities of the present moment-the patterns of energy and relationship, the great and subtle underlying themes, the hidden and apparent imperatives for action. We have also noticed that in many cases usually the front, obverse of these coins is used as the “yang” and the back, reverse is used for the “ying” or “yin” side, don’t know why, possible just the tradition. ***These coins can also be used in Feng Shui to enhance and represent Wealth & Prosperity, to bring Good Luck, and to neutralize bad directions, influences, and negativity. They can be worn, using a red cord, to attract luck and prosperity. They can be placed in your money or wealth sector of your home to increase wealth or you can just carry them with you to bring good fortune. Also of interest may be Geomancy, Macrobiotics, 9 Star Ki Astrology, Taoism, Shiatsu, Tai Chi, and Zi Wei Dou Shu. ***Others on ebay are offerring similar looking coins, but mostly they are fakes, some even tell you this, many don’t. Why use phony, reproduced, copy, unreal, fake, counterfeit, facsimile, charlatan, coins when you don’t have too. Some of those they sell may even be illegal, as they do not comply with the Federal Law, Hobby Protection Act of 1973, that requires reproductions of authentic coins to be stamped “copy” directly on them. Who needs that karma? Many of them were just made up by novelty companies to sell to unsuspecting tourists. Are you sure this is what you want to use for the application of this art??
